The University of South Africa (Unisa) is yet to enroll new desiring applicants wanting to pursue preferred teaching courses in the institution. The application date for the 2026-2027 academic year enrollment begins from, 14th of April 2026 and close on 9th of May 2026, Therefore Unisa expect all prospective applicants to visit the official website page of Unisa, pay a non-refundable amount of R140.00 for the application fee, fill it out and submit all applications before the deadline date, which is 9th May, 2026.
All applicants must note that, admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification. Also, any candidate who would be able to complete the qualification successfully will be able to teach from Grade 4 to 7. Teaching practice is a compulsory component in this program and must be taken according to the specific criteria every year. Five weeks practical is required every year, and three weeks must be offered consecutively. This qualification comprises both semester and year modules.
Unisa requires all aspiring applicants to scan all documents and attach them to the application form before final submission and also, applicants must ensure to provide authentic documentations as well as personal informations, including personal contact details. Any applicant who refuses to comply by the application date specified, those applicants may not be offered a space in any of the qualification it the institution.

Who Qualifies For Unisa Courses In Teaching:
- Applicants (new applicants & Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted the offer online. Unisa reserves the right to not process and / or to cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification.
- Re-registering students may register for the 2026 academic year once the registration period.
Application Fee For Unisa Courses In Teaching:
Applicants are demanded to pay for the application fee before getting access to the application forms to apply for the admission. Applicants must take note that, any paid amount for the application fee is not refundable, even if the applicant decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available.
- The required amount for the application fees is R140.00
- Applicants are to proceed with the payment of the application fees after receiving student number from Unisa.
