This formal announcement goes to all prospective applicant who were not able to meet the preferred qualification requirements for the first semester and waiting to re-apply for the second semester. The University of South Africa (Unisa) has unveiled the opening date for all aspiring applicants to apply for any courses and programmes available. The opening date for semester two (2) will be opened form 14th of April, 2026 and close on 9th of May, 2026 for all prospective applicants willing to join the institution for the 2026 semester two (2) academic year.

All applicant are required to submit their applications before the deadline date and ensure to meet all the requirements from Unisa in order to be enrolled to the 2026 semester two (2) admission. Any applicants who fails to submit the application on time require by Unisa will not be processed or declined. In order to have access to the admission forms, you need to pay non-refundable amount of R140.00 as admission fees.

For those applicants who have access to the internet can pay for the admission fees and proceed with the application process online and for those who does not have access to the internet can go directly to the institution premises and pick up the admission forms and proceed with the application. Any amount paid in the course of the admission is not refundable so Unisa urge all applicants to meet all the requirements before applying for the semester two (2) admission.

First and formost, all applicants must ensure to scan all required documents before starting the application since the institution does not provide scanners or any electronics devices to scan your documents.

Unisa Application 2026 Semester 2 Date:

The opening dates for the Unisa semester 2 for the 2026 study year are as follows:

  • Opening Date: 14th of April 2026.
  • Closing Date: 9th of May 2026.

Who Can Apply Unisa Semester 2 Application:

  • First-time Unisa applicants.
  • Unisa students changing to a new Programme.
  • Applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space.

Application fees for Unisa Semester 2 Application 2026:

  • The required amount for the application fees is R140.00
  • Applicants are to proceed with the payment of the application fees after receiving student number from Unisa.
  • Use the student number and application fees allocation number as your reference number.

Requirements for Semester 2 Application 2026:

All prospective applicants starting a new qualification must meet theses requirements below and ensure to upload all the required documents.

  • All applicants must ensure to avoid mistakes on the admission form relating to the provision of personal information.
  • Copy of your school qualifications (eg National Senior Certificate).
  • Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted).
  • Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID / passport (international students).
  • Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable).
  • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans.
  • Any additional documents as may be required for a specific Short Learning Programme.
