Unisa Online Application Date 2026/2027

Below are the important dates and deadlines for Unisa applications for the 2026/2027 academic year;

Undergraduate Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 18 August to 11 October 2025.
Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 18 August to 10 October 2025.
Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 21 November 2025 (some exceptions apply).
Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 5 January to 13 February 2026 for First semester modules. Applications for year modules will remain open until 13 March 2026.

Pay a non-refundable online application fee of R150.00 as outlined in the application process. Keep the payment receipt as you may need it for future reference.

Admission Requirements For Unisa Application 2026/2027

But the general requirements are as follows:

UNISA sets a maximum credit threshold for each semester or year, and any enrolment or addition of modules exceeding this limit won’t be reviewed or processed.
Furthermore, students are required to fulfil the admission criteria for the qualification they are seeking credits or exemptions. Up to half (50%) of the qualification’s credits could potentially be granted as exemptions.
Importantly, once an application is submitted, no changes or additions to qualifications can be accommodated.
Students who are presently excluded or suspended from another institution due to misconduct won’t be taken into consideration for admission to UNISA.

The following documents are required to apply online at Unisa for the 2026/2027 academic year;

Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
