The University of South Africa (UNISA) Online Application 2026-2027 for Admission will be open 21 August 2025 to 11 October 2025 for all Undergraduate qualifications, Honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas. Therefore, applicants wanting to start a new programme must go to www.unisa.ac.za online application portal for 2026 details. UNISA online application fee for 2026-2027 academic year is R145.00. Remember, application fee for 2026 is non-refundable even if you decide not to study with UNISA or do not meet the admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
UNISA application fee deadline 2026 is the closing date for the application period. Therefore, any applicant who submit an online application without the application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please make sure to keep a copy of your proof of payment. How to Submit UNISA Online Application 2026-2027
UNISA Online Application process for the 2026 academic session is simple, easy and accurate. Please, to apply online, follow the steps below:
- Visit UNISA application website at www.unisa.ac.za
- From the top menu, click on the “Admission” tab
- Click on “Apply for Admission 2026” to proceed
- Click the qualification level (Undergraduate/Postgraduate,…)
- Read carefully about the online application information
- Then, click on the “Start the Process” link to begin
- Read the application details and how the selection process entail
- Choose the qualification(s) for which you want to apply
- Ensure that you have the necessary documents ready to upload
- Click on “Apply Now” to start the online application process
- A new UNISA application tool window will be open unto you.
- Fill out the online application form with the requested details
- Upload all your supporting documents. Ensure they are scanned copies
- Pay the online application fee of R145 and keep the proof of payment
- Complete and Submit your application for evaluation or review
After submission, UNISA will assess your application, which includes the admission points score system.
Based on the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice, and the minimum academic points score (APS) as well as the number of spaces available for the qualification for which you have applied, you may be offered a space for the 2026 academic year. Applicants who do not qualify for admission will get feedback as soon as their applications are processed.
Also, applicants who qualify for admission will only receive final feedback whether or not UNISA will offer them a space for the 2026 academic year when all applications received by the closing date have been processed.

- A Copy of your Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate
- A Copy of your official tertiary academic records (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

Prospective applicants planning to study at the University of South Africa (UNISA) should meet the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification for the 2026 academic year:
- You must have a Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate
- Must have National Certificate Vocational or Foreign Certificate
- A maximum of 50% of the prescribed credits may be awarded in the form of credits and exemptions
- Knowledge or skills acquired during practical work experience, community work in a relevant field
- A completion of a one-year certificate programme at NQF level 4, 5 or higher with 48 credits at another accredited institution
